Many of you may have heard of Zone 2, but it’s not just about speed or running. It’s about your “hybrid engine”, the energy system that supports all your movements. Whether you’re doing parkour, OCR, or HYROX, the common factor is repeated movement under accumulated fatigue.

What is Zone 2 in Heart Rate Training?
Remember, Zone 2 is a conversational pace, typically falling between 60% and 70% of your maximum heart rate. At the start of a session, your form feels solid. By the end, fatigue kicks in. That’s when accuracy drops, control starts to fade.
It’s not because your skills disappear, but because your energy system can no longer fully support them.

How It Assists in Hybrid Sports?
Zone 2 training builds your aerobic base, helping your body use oxygen more efficiently, regulate your heart rate, and recover faster between efforts. It may look simple but it’s what protects the quality of your movement when fatigue sets in.

It doesn’t make you slower.
It helps you slow down the rate at which you break down.

A strong aerobic base helps you maintain form, rhythm, and performance for longer.
